Gaming Laptop Company Razer Buys Unique Smartphone Startup Nextbit
Smartphone startup Nextbit has just announced that it’s been acquired by gaming laptop company Razer. Razer acquired majority assets of Nextbit for an unspecified amount and is bringing the company’s employees onboard. Razer reportedly confirmed that it plans to continue developing phones under the Nextbit brand focusing “on unique mobile design and experiences,” but didn’t give a timeframe for when we should expect that. The news comes just a few months after Razer acquired the popular film audio company THX.
